Cycling from the Underground to Majestic Tree Canopies

Since 1895, it has welcomed visitors who marvel at its vast underground chambers and stunning natural formations. An oasis of centuries-old trees, arranged by the famous patron Žiga Zois, can be found in Zois Park. These magnificent trees, some over 250 years old, are among the thickest in Slovenia and evoke the atmosphere of old manor elegance. For cycling enthusiasts, Mislinja is the heart of the popular Štrekna trail, home to the highest former railway station in all of Yugoslavia.

The Robnik homestead features a fully preserved smithy with a water hammer, where tools for agriculture and forestry were once made, and livestock was shod. The Villa Rustica in Zgornji Dovži is the best-explored Roman rural villa in Koroška, uncovered through archaeological research revealing life from the 1st and 2nd centuries AD. The birthplace of Tisnikar, today converted into the Kavka Gallery with an information center, hosts art exhibitions, educational programs, and artist residencies.
