Cycling Etiquette
10 Cycling Commandments
1 Before I go cycling, I always check the condition of my bicycle and equipment.
2 I always wear safety gear when cycling.
3 If I turn off the planned route, I signal my change of direction with my hand.
4 I don’t stop in the middle of the path, but always to the side so I don’t obstruct other cyclists.
5 I know my abilities and don’t perform stunts that could endanger myself or other cyclists if I’m careless.
6 In case of night conditions, my bicycle is equipped with lighting signals.
7 I am patient with pedestrians who use the same path, and I announce my presence from afar with a bell or a shout.
8 I respect the environment and do not litter; I put my trash in bins or, better yet, take it with me.
9 If I notice a cyclist in trouble, I offer help.
10 If I want to ride in another cyclist’s slipstream, I ask for their permission first.
