Top gastronomy 160 metres below the surface – Štajger’s lunch by award-winning chefs – Descent with the oldest lift and ride on the underground train.
Come for Slovenia’s ultimate mining and culinary highlights – and experience them with all your senses!
At the Coal Mining Museum of Slovenia, your guide will equip you with a helmet and a lamp. After a warm miner’s greeting Srečno! and a symbolic jump over the skin, you’ll descend with the oldest operating lift in Slovenia to one of the thickest layers of coal in the world. There, you’ll explore the most fascinating locations of the underground, where stories of coal mining come to life in surprising ways.
Step into the deepest dining room in Europe, located 160 metres below the earth’s surface. Here, you’ll be treated by chefs and servers to a culinary experience inspired by local ingredients and mining heritage. Štajger’s lunch is served with selected wines and accompanied by musical entertainment.
After the gourmet experience, an exciting underground train ride awaits, followed by a return to the surface by lift and a stop in the miners’ black wardrobe. A glass of surprise and a thoughtful souvenir round off the experience – something to take with you and share with others.
