Day 1: Slovenj Gradec – Plešivški Mill – Žerjav – Mežica
In Slovenj Gradec, turn off the Štrekna route by bicycle and continue through rural settlements to the renovated Plešivški Mill, where a stop and visit are possible. The route offers stunning views of Mount Uršlja Gora, passing through Žerjav and arriving in Mežica. We recommend tasting local specialties such as mežerli and kvočev nudlni. Accommodation at a local B&B, overnight stay.
Day 2: Mežica – beekeeping experience – Ravne na Koroškem
Spend the morning learning about the rich life of bees: visit the beekeeping center in Mežica with honey tastings and an introduction to api-tourism. In the afternoon, explore the mysteries of the Peca Underground, offering unique experiences in an abandoned mine. Continue cycling along a well-maintained cycling path towards Ravne na Koroškem. Opportunities for short stops to visit local landmarks. Accommodation in Ravne, overnight stay.
Day 3: Visit Prežihovina – conclusion in Slovenj Gradec
After breakfast, visit the ironworking heritage of the Meža Valley at Štauharija. Then return to Slovenj Gradec. On the way, stop at Prežihovina – the memorial house of writer Lovro Kuhar, known as Prežihov Voranc. Guided tours or independent walks around the area are possible. The program concludes in the afternoon.
